Caring for Moss Art
Moss Art Care
Moss and Matter moss art uses preserved natural moss with no sun or water required, so you can enjoy the beauty of the outside inside with little maintenance. Follow these tips to preserve your moss art.
Hanging
Locate wall studs and attach hardware directly to them, as they offer the best support. If you're mounting the art on drywall and cannot locate a stud, use heavy-duty wall anchors, such as toggle bolts or Molly bolts.
Light
Keep art out of direct sunlight and away from bright artificial lights, which can damage moss and cause it to fade. Avoid placing moss art close to high-wattage lights.
Temperature
Store art in a cool, dry place, ideally between 21-24°C (70-75°F). Avoid areas with fluctuating temperatures, humidity, and moisture.
Humidity
Don't store moss art in rooms with more than 50% humidity. Keep art away from water sources, like sinks and showers, and don't hang it on damp walls. High humidity can cause it to absorb moisture, making it feel damp, and direct sunlight can cause it to fade over time.
Cleaning
Keep art in a clean environment and use a duster gently. Handle it as little as possible with clean hands, as oil from your skin can affect its texture and color over time. Avoid using cleaning products.
Storage
Avoid storing art in attics or basements, and keep moss art away from external walls. Cover art with a breathable cloth or store it in a solander box.
